Antalya – the face of the Turkish Riviera


Antalya is a city situated in the southwest part of Turkey on the Mediterranean coast of the country. The city is an administrative centre of the vilayet that bears the same name – Antalya and it is also one of the most important places of the so called Turkish Riviera. Antalya is a beautiful and pictorial city that is surrounded by high mountains, the Mediterranean Sea and it has got very nice beaches. The forestry hillsides of Toros Mountain go straight down to the sea forming a hackly coast line of hills and plains. The combination of mountains and the sea creates incredible beauty and harmony and gives the city very interesting piece of magic. Established back in 159 B.C, being a winter residence of the Roman emperor Hadrian, nowadays Antalya is a worldwide famous resort. The most appropriate time to visit Antalya is the period between early spring and late autumn. During this time temperatures vary between 20оС и 30оС. Summer, traditionally, is the most preferable season for holidays, but winter also offers its beauty and advantages. Well developed is the ski tourism in the mountains and also even during this period the waters of the Mediterranean Sea are still warm. Furthermore, during the colder seasons the weather is more appropriate for sightseeing.

Antalya is a resort which is recognized as a world top destination because of its incredible combination of crystal clear sea, unique nature and also many cultural and historical landmarks. In combination with the top-class service and the beautiful hotels the holiday in Antalya could turn out to be something really unforgettable.
