Kuşadası
Kuşadası is one of the most famous and attractive resort towns in Turkey. It is situated in the west part of the country on the Aegean coast and it is a very important city in the vilayet of Ayden. In translation the name Kuşadası means “Bird Island” and it comes from 'kuş' (bird) and 'ada' (island). The city is called like this because right next to it in the sea there is a stone island whose form resembles a bird’s head. The history of the whole region dates back to 3000 B.C. and it has gone through different historical and cultural periods. These lands testify the presence of Roman warriors, Venetian traders and Ottoman conquerors to Jesus Christ and Mother Mary in the dawn of Christianity.
Kuşadası offers incredible variety of amusements and conditions for relaxation. There are crystal clear waters and incredible sea, beautiful long beaches, exotic tropical vegetation and last, but not least relaxing mild Mediterranean climate. The city has got typical Mediterranean climate with a very hot summer and mild winter. Furthermore, there are around 300 sunny days during the year and this makes the tourist season very long. What`s more, the average temperature of the sea water is between 20оС и 26оС. Windsurfing, water-skis, yachting and beach volleyball are just a small part of everything that active life lovers could enjoy. Because of the Mediterranean climate the tourist season in Kuşadası is very long. Despite of this, the most preferable season for visiting and holiday is the summer. If you like to go sightseeing, then it is appropriate to choose spring or autumn when temperatures are not that high. Also traveling to Kuşadası is recommended to be done with an airplane.
