published on 29.03.2011

Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, or THY, is set to launch direct flights to Malaga, Spain.

The maiden THY flight to Malaga from Istanbul will be made on April 27, Halid Koca, the company's director for Malaga operations, told the Anatolia news agency.

Malaga will be the fourth destination of the Turkish air carrier in Spain after Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, with flights scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, Koca said.

"The flights are starting on April 27 but we have had very good occupancy rates already," Koca said.

Koca said THY also became an official sponsor for the Open de Andalucia Golf Tournament, which is currently being held in Seville.
